His name is Joshua Davis and the happy couple tied the knot on February 27th, in Nashville. RaeLynn of course took to social media to celebrate and announce the news with lots of congratulations coming in from her giant fanbase.

The Pageant Material talent was joined on stage by longtime boyfriend Misa Arriaga. Simply a lovely, folksy version of the British band’s signature song. Oh and the yellow-clad Musgraves also causally high-fived Prince Harry while she was there. Such a boss.

In 1969 Dolly wrote her famous song “Coat of Many Colors” on the back of one of Porter Wagoner’s dry cleaning receipts. She later released the song as the title track to her eighth studio album. The song tells a story of her mother making her a unique and colorful coat, and how it inspired her to follow her dreams.

For a long time, Dolly has been working on making this story into a movie and on December 10th, she revealed it for the first time to 13 Million viewers on NBC.

The film has been very highly received and drew the highest crowd of any TV movie from the big four networks in the last four years. The film stars Alyvia Alyn Lind as young Dolly Jennifer Nettles from the country duo Sugarland as Dolly’s mother, Avie Lee Parton, and Rick Schroder who plays Dolly’s father Robert Lee Parton.

The early success of this film has spurred Dolly and the people at NBC to look into doing it again with other songs such as “Jolene,” but no official news has been released.

David and his wife Catherine Werne had been struggling for years with infertility, but at the CMA awards in November they announced to the world they were expecting not one, but two! Now this morning, December 12th, around 7:45 AM, the happy couple welcomed two new souls into the world named Lillian Catherine Nail, and Lawson Brent Nail.

The couple is of course very excited and has had an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans. David and Catherine released the news in a press release and said “No words can describe the feeling. Beyond worth the wait. We are crazy in love with them both. Having two right off the bat is gonna be an experiment but, hopefully, the good Lord blesses us with ability to care for them.”

Everyone at Country Music Bistro is sending them a huge congratulations as well and we can’t wait to see the first pictures.

Besides expanding her media empire a little more, Dolly performed her classic tune “Coat of Many Colors” on ‘The Voice‘ last night.

She is such a treasure. No wonder she’s the most honored female country performer of all time— eight Grammy Awards, 46 Grammy nominations, two Academy Award nominations, ten Country Music Association Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards, and is one of only seven female singers to clinch the Country Music Association’s coveted ‘Entertainer of the Year’ award.

Can’t get enough of Dolly? Be sure to catch “Dolly Parton‘s Coat of Many Colors” this Thursday, December 10th at 9/8c on NBC. The movie is based on the inspiring true story of Parton’s remarkable childhood in Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains. Set in 1955, the program follows the tight-knit Parton family as they struggle to overcome tragedy and discover the healing power of love, faith, and a meaningful patchwork coat that helped make Parton the success she is today. Interesting note, Sugarland‘s Jennifer Nettles portrays Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Parton.

Carrie Underwood put her own spin on the classic “Someone to Watch Over Me” and looked like an absolute dream in a cream and black lace gown.

Zac Brown cleans up real nice and took the stage for a rendition of the feel-good romantic tune, “The Way You Look Tonight.” The Zac Brown Band frontman clearly enjoyed his time in the spotlight— check out that huge smile!

The night was hosted by Kevin Bacon and held at Madison Square Garden. All proceeds from the show went to Robin Hood, a stand-up organization that fights poverty.

Church told the crowd that “John Lennon wrote and sang music that mattered, and we need to do more of that today.” He went on to perform a chilling rendition of “Mind Games” by himself, and then joined his buddy Steven Tyler to perform an epic rendition of “Revolution.”

This year’s CMA Country Christmas special happened on Thursday and was an amazing show as usual. The night was hosted by Jennifer Nettles who has now done it six times, and seems to be a great beacon for country music and Christmas. This year was extra special as the event was held at The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, rather than the Bridgestone Arena.

The night is meant to celebrate the holiday season with unique performances, as well as to reach out to those in need. This year was no different with performances by Lindsay Sterling, LeAnn Rhimes, Kelsea Ballerini, Martina McBride, Pentataonix, David Nail, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, and Jennifer Nettles to name a few.

Country stars Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett couldn’t make the show but still took part by stopping by St. Jude Children’s Hospital to see Kenzie, a 14 year old country fan who just kicked cancer. The pair answered a long list of questions that Kenzie had prepared, gave her a big basket of presents, and even performed a duet of “I’ll be Home For Christmas,” for the young lady.

The night was very heartwarming and shined a beautiful light on Christmas. If you missed the show on Thursday fret not, you can watch the whole show from beginning to end at this link HERE.

The episode titled “Ten Thirteen,” shows characters Megan Abbott (Liv Tyler) and Tommy Garvey (Chris Zylka) slow dancing in a bar with Simpson’s “The Promise” humming in the background. The tune appears on the Kentucky native’s 2014 album Metamodern Sounds in Country Music.

Cable TV has definitely helped bring independent artists such as Sturgill Simpson some well-deserved recognition. Popular programs like True Blood, Sons of Anarchy, Weeds, and Six Feet Under are especially notable for including non-mainstream artists on their soundtracks. As major music fans, we’re thrilled to see unique music blasted out to a national audience.
