Bentley's latest tour kicked off June 5th in Raleigh, North Carolina.

We’re pretty stoked about Dierks Bentley‘s 2015 Sounds of Summer Tour and can’t wait to witness the promised fireworks, brand-new elaborate stage configuration, and opening acts— Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae, and Canaan Smith— ourselves.

At a recent media event, the popular singer explained how he planned out his ambitious tour, “It really starts with me and Dan, my fiddle player. He and I sit down in my kitchen, [with] a couple guitars [and] last year’s setlist, and just start breaking it down.”

Bentley continued, “There’s a lot of things we love. I love last year’s show. That’s the hardest part of all of it, is letting go of one tour, one setlist, and picking up a new show. We go … ‘That really works great, but we’ve been doing it too long,’ and start kind of coming up with a rough idea that we then take to the band.”

Once the singer and his crew determined the tour’s setlist they moved their brainstorming session from the kitchen to the bass player’s basement— eventually the group wound up laying out specific details at Bridgestone Arena.

The Arizona native promises a mix if huge and intimate moments during his concert: “where you’re crazy, and everyone’s having a great time; you’re bouncing off the walls,” the crooner elaborated. “Then you find yourself in a corner talking to someone about something serious for a second; then you go back to drinking more beers. I feel like our show has that kind of flow like a long house party.”

Besides being on tour, Bentley has selected “Riser,” the title track off of his latest album, as his next single. “It’s a big song,” the singer stated. “It takes different meanings as it goes on. It’s not a song for the dead, it’s a song for the living; it’s a song of resilience. It’s one of those songs that will always have various meanings. I certainly think about my fans, and people out there, looking out at a crowd of 20,000 people, everyone has some story they’re struggling with, whether it’s bills or their kids, and they’re finding a way to make it happen.”

Keep makin’ it happen and we’ll catch you on the road, Dierks.
