Zac Brown Band will make their 'Saturday Night Live' debut on March 7th.
It seems “Saturday Night Live” has gone country! First Blake Shelton both hosts and performs, now it’s Zac Brown Band’s turn to bring the twang to the sketch comedy show.
The native Georgia band will perform as musical guests on the March 7 show. The performance will mark their SNL debut. Thor actor Chris Hemsworth will host the show.
Rolling Stone reports that the band will most likely perform their latest single, “Homegrown,” on the show. Regardless of which songs they play, fans won’t want to miss the opportunity to hear this soulful band perform.
The show, which has been much buzzed about this season thanks to its 40th anniversary special, has actually featured relatively few country artists over the years. Before Shelton’s appearance last month there had not been a country act on the show since Lady Antebellum appeared as musical guest in October 2011.
The last time the show saw multiple country acts in one season was the 34th season, which kicked off in 2008. Tim McGraw hosted, while Taylor Swift appeared as musical guest (Neil Patrick Harris hosted) and appeared in a sketch later that season.
