June 22, 1995 was a HUGE day for the legendary Canadian songstress!

Twenty years ago today Shania Twain earned her first platinum album with The Woman in Me. Her sophomore album spun off a whopping four number one hits, “Any Man of Mine,” “If You’re Not in It for Love (I’m Outta Here),” “You Win My Love,” and “No One Needs to Know.”

The first single, “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under,” entered the Billboard country singles chart in January 1995 and became Twain’s very first Top 20 hit.

Over the last two decades, The Woman in Me, has sold 18 million copies, making Twain the best-selling country female artist of all time. The project also won a Grammy for country album of the year and was named album of the year by the Academy of Country Music in 1995.

Needless to say, this record lit the songbird’s country music career on fire and secured her ‘icon’ status. Be sure to catch the singer on her Rock This Country farewell tour.

Happy anniversary, Shania!
