Shania Twain played the first of two Vancouver concerts on her "Rock This Country" farewell tour, which had officially kicked off in Seattle Friday (June 5th) night.
Shania Twain took the stage this past weekend and kicked off the final tour of her career. Dubbed the “Rock This Country” tour the performance does just that and proves that Shania is the indisputable “Queen of Country Rock”.
The tour kicked off in Seattle this past friday, June 5th, at KeyArena with flames and fireworks and a flight around the arena suspended by a crane, but the concert would have been riveting without any of that.
As you can see from the photo above, Shania decided to go blonde for the tour and she pulls it off beautifully.
Knowing this was the final time Twain would play in Seattle, the sold-out house stood in reverence most of the night, reveling in a satisfying array of hits, belting out the lyrics and showering Twain with affection.
Even with recent voice problems, she killed it on stage.
“It took a lot of work to get back up here,” Twain admitted at the beginning of the acoustic portion of the show, talking about the problems she has been having with her voice over the past few years.
Her show in Vancouver was just as exciting and loved by those who attended.
“I just want to say thank you for an amazing welcome back to Canada,” Twain said between songs. “Vancouver is a gorgeous place.”
“You probably didn’t recognize me because you’re not used to seeing me as a blond,” she said, pointing out her new hair color before the song “Ain’t No Quitter”.
Backed by a black-clad seven-piece band (two fiddles, three guitars, bass, drums, and a spot open for some keyboards), Twain open the show with a sizzling “Rock This Country”, unveiling a state-of-the-art show boasting fireworks, lasers, dry ice and massive lighting and LED displays.
