Scotty McCreery Loses Bidding War at Illinois State Fair

Scotty McCreery just happened to be at the Illinois State Fair recently opening for a little band called Rascal Flatts. While preparing for the show, Scotty heard through the grapevine that a grandchampion 4-H steer shared the singer’s first and last name, Scotty McCreery.

The American Idol winner couldn’t resist but have a look for himself and naturally started bidding on the bovine while at the livestock auction. Scotty tried to win “Scotty McCreery” but Illinois governor Bruce Rauner won the auction at a record breaking $61,000. Governor Rauner won last year’s grand champion as well for $1,000 less.

The owner of “Scotty McCreery,” Taylor Donelson, was very excited to have such an amazing experience and to get to hangout with the real Scotty McCreery after the auction. Scotty made sure to post on social media about the experience, and then went on to have an amazing night playing with Rascall Flatts on the main stage.
