Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum had a not so fun adventure on her way to the ACM Awards when the tour bus carrying herself, her husband, and her manager caught fire in Texas. Luckily, while the bus was ruined, there were no injuries and Scott was able to board another bus and continue on to the awards show.
Now that all the excitement has settled, Scott is looking back on the incident and taking stock of the memories of the scary accident.
“A lot of people, even our tour manager, were like, ‘Do you want to fly home? How do you feel about getting on the bus?’” Scott recalled to The Boot and other reporters at a recent media event.
“And I was intentional about getting back on because it’s like, you fall off the horse, you get back on the horse. That was a once-in-a-lifetime thing that happened, and I don’t want to live in fear,” she adds.
“Everyone was okay, and I got back on the horse.”
Still, Scott says that one good thing may have come from the event: Lady Antebellum are now even more focused on safety as they kick off their Wheels Up 2015 Tour.
“I think everybody and all the bus drivers will be checking the buses a lot more,” she notes.
Lady Antebellum will return to Texas to launch their upcoming trek on May 1 in Lubbock, with Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes serving as their opening acts. A list of all of their upcoming shows is available on their website.
