It seems Luke Bryan has caught the baseball spring fever! He recently joined the Chicago White Sox for batting practice, although it was just for fun.
Luke Bryan said that he went to the same high school as White Sox player Buster Posey in Leesburg, Ga., where Bryan learned in 10th grade that he was not a born athlete and decided to pursue a dream in country music, thank goodness for his fans!
“If he wants to sing the anthem, that’s perfect,” manager Robin Ventura said about possibly signing Bryan.
“Him and ‘Rochey’ [Adam LaRoche] are good buddies. Guys had a great time with him out here. He’s good as far as coming out, interacting, having fun. It’s always good when stuff like that mixes together. He took infield, and he’s going to be a little sore, I think.”
Video shows Bryan getting five pitches. He swings and misses once, chops two into the dirt in front of home plate, dribbles another toward third base and makes solid contact on the other.
We can’t help but notice that The Wallflowers, a popular 90’s band, is blaring in the background. We would have to guess that 90’s music is the ultimate baseball motivator.

Country stars turning up at spring training is nothing new. Garth Brooks made it a yearly thing, usually playing in games for charity.
