Miranda Lambert has finally put out the “open” sign on her new bed and breakfast The Ladysmith in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. The venture is described as “shabby chic meets rock ‘n roll.”
Miranda spent over a year restoring the old brownstone building that houses the business, which was built in 1901, and was determined to greet future guests with some good ol’ southern hospitality!
Visitors are welcomed by the ‘innkeeper’ with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies upon check-in, and a hot, country-style breakfast every morning.
The inn boasts eight rooms that all have names like the “Knaughty Pine”, “Curtain Call”, and “The Judge”.
The decor sets off masculine elements like exposed brick, wood paneling, cowhide and even a Chevrolet tailgate headboard, with softer elements like pink chandeliers, angel wings, damask drapery and floral cushions.
In keeping with its century-old heritage, Lambert preserved certain details including vintage photographs and furnished the inn with repurposed materials and antique pieces she’s collected in her travels throughout the US.
Lambert has been playing it coy, so far. “I have no idea what I’m doing,” she told Taste of Country. “I don’t know how to run a bed and breakfast or anything about it. But it’s too beautiful of a building not to restore.”
