Sometimes music is the best medicine in the world. This holds true for a little girl that is able to smile whenever her favorite Luke Bryan song comes on. Her name is Lyanna and she is fighting a battle against Leukemia in New York.
Lyanna’s father, Chad, tells Taste of Country his daughter is “doing amazing” after three rounds of chemotherapy. She was diagnosed on Feb. 21 and started treatment on Feb. 24. The first four to five days were extraordinarily difficult for the family of six, but Chad says support from his community has helped prop him up each day.
While he’s overwhelmed by the compassion and kindness strangers have shown, he knows Bryan is doing just as much good without even realizing it. The family first reached out to Taste of Country in an effort to thank the “Spring Breakdown” singer.
“Luke Bryan music is her medicine,” Chad reveals. It’s his voice you hear in the video above. That’s Lyanna sitting in a hospital bed, hooked up to tubes and machines that eventually interrupt her jam.
“After we take your medicine, we can listen to your music, okay?” Flynn’s father promises her in the video below.
The little girl grimaces as she takes her pills, but immediately brightens when her dad hands her his phone to play Bryan’s song.
We’re sure Bryan would be thrilled to know his music is helping a young fan.
