Her story went global after her hometown of Hood River, Oregon generously came together to throw her an incredible princess-themed birthday extravaganza. Lila’s family and community truly banded together to make her remaining months memorable and joyful.
After her princess party and exciting journey to Hawaii, Lila had one more special wish in mind— to dance with her favorite crooner, Luke Bryan.
“She’s just always loved him, whenever she hears his songs come on, she starts dancing,” her mother, Heidi Hall, told People magazine earlier this month. “Her favorite song of all time is ‘That’s My Kind of Night.’ If she could to be on stage with him while he sings that song, that would just make her whole entire year.”
After reading People magazine’s coverage, Bryan stepped in to help grant Lila’s final wish.
“Luke personally called Lila and talked to her and her family,” Jenny Brown-Lorenzen, a close friend of Lila’s family, told the popular publication. “They were so very impressed.” The singer also recorded a video message and made arrangements for her family to get VIP tickets to an upcoming show.
“Luke was also going to have Lila sing her favorite song, ‘That’s My Kind of Night’ with him on stage,” Lorenzen said. “It would have been priceless. Lila’s family was so touched by Luke’s genuine support and compassion,” she continued. “It meant so much to them.”
