A tour bus carrying Lady Antebellum lead vocalist Hillary Scott and her husband caught on fire on Interstate 30 in Texas this morning (April 16th).

Hillary Scott from the band Lady Antebellum and her husband had a pretty scary morning when their tour bus caught fire while traveling to Dallas, Texas from Nashville for the ACM Awards. Luckily everyone was evacuated and there were no injuries to report.

The bus’s back tire blew out about 8:30 a.m., just as it was passing through Garland, police spokesman Mike Hatfield said in a news conference. The bus pulled over and then caught fire.

In an Instagram post, Scott said she, her husband, the band’s tour manager and the bus driver quickly evacuated the bus. They were not injured.

“Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe,” Scott said in the Instagram post.

Something miraculous also happened, she explained in another Instagram post:

“I just got this picture from the scene of the fire and HAD to share this. Today, when our bus caught on fire we had quite a few personal belongings in the back (where I was asleep before evacuating the bus) one of them being my Bible. I kid you not, EVERYTHING in the back lounge was destroyed from the flames, except my Bible. The outside cover was burned and messed up but NOT ONE PAGE was missing. Yall, God’s Word will always stand. He is FOR YOU, WILL PROTECT YOU, AND HIS LOVE FOR YOU WILL NEVER FADE. My faith is forever deepened because of today. I hope this story deepens yours.”

Scott’s bus was being followed by other tour buses in their entourage and she was able to be picked up and continue along her way to the ACM’s.

Thank goodness everyone was safe and sound. Watch Lady Antebellum perform this Sunday at the ACM Awards on CBS at 8pm/7pm Central.
