Lady Antebellum has been pushing the country genre out of its comfort zone recently by collaborating with electronic dance artists Zedd, and now Audien.
Lady A turned lots of heads on June 10th when they performed “Long Stretch of Love” with Zedd, the Russion EDM star, on the CMT Music Awards. The performance was one of a kind and stunned their fans as well as their country music cohorts. Check out the genre blending performance below.

Now Lady Antebellum is about to do it again, but this time with the Connecticut EDM star Audien. Audien approached Lady Antebellum with his song “Something Better,” asking them to perform the vocals on the track.
Lady A “loved the lyrics and the melody” of the song and Charles Kelley of the trio went on to say “This is one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. Lyrically, it is powerful. It reminded me of some of those really great messages you hear from a band like Switchfoot. It took us out of our comfort zone. We’re learning as a band not to be so scared of things. We’ll always stay true to the country genre but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun.”
The real question here is how this new music will be received by country fans and country radio. Is country music ready for a huge musical shift? Judging by the success of Lady Antebellum’s tourmate Sam Hunt, and his hip hop inspired sound, country music might be willing to listen.
Audien recently released a teaser of the coming track which you can listen to below.
