Kacey Musgraves loves traditional country. She’s a huge fan of Willie Nelson, who of course resides in her homestate of Texas. While recently opening for him on tour, Kacey asked the legend if she could record his obscure song “Are You Sure.” Willie of course obliged, and also offered to record it with her as a duet.
The song was released back in June on her sophomore album Pageant Material, as a bonus track at the very end. The song has been very well received and Kacey has recently released a music video with it as well.

This new video was shot at The White Horse honky tonk in Austin Texas, and was directed by Reid Long, Kelly Christine Photo, and Kacey, according to her post. The performances by Musgraves and Willie are very real, and really let you feel lots of contrast between the two.
Recording a song with Willie Nelson is definitely one of the coolest bucket list items ever, and congratulations to Kacey Musgraves for scratching it off. Kacey continues to make waves in the country music world and there’s no telling what she’ll do next. Stay tuned to this Texas songwriter’s meteoric rise.
