The pop star might be the next to hop on the country train.

Unless you live under a rock, you definitely heard about Justin Timberlake and Chris Stapleton’s earth shattering performance on the Country Music Awards last week. This mind blowing performance rounded out the night from Chris as he of course swept the awards by winning every category he was nominated in, which included Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the year.

The night spoke most highly of Chris but it also raised some eyebrows about Justin Timberlake in the country music world. Justin is a Memphis native but recently purchased a large 126 acre plot of land right outside of Nashville. The seller of the land happened to be Aubrey Preston who swooped in and saved the historic Studio A in Nashville right before it was set to be demolished last year.

The country blog Saving Country Music also recently reported that Justin has been trying to book studio time at Studio A. A country album from the pop star has not been officially announced but these signs are pointing strongly in that direction.

Timberlake was even recently heard telling SiriusXM that “I still got my eyes set on a Best Country Album. There is time for that.” With artists like Darius Rucker switching from pop to country and Taylor Swift switching from country to pop, there seems to be no more rules about genre hopping.

So tell us what you think, would you get excited about a country sounding album from J.T? The man is super talented and everything he touches usually turns to gold so it would probably be very amazing.

We’ll keep you informed on this story and make sure you check out Chris and Justin’s duet on the CMA’s below!
