George Strait Raises a Half a Million Dollars for Charity!

Country Legend George Strait may be in "retirement" but that doesn't mean he isn't still out there making a difference!

George Strait held his fourth annual Vaqueros del Mar Invitational Golf Tournament and Auction on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26, raising a record amount for the Feherty’s Troops First Foundation, which aids wounded military personnel.

The country music legend raised more than $550,000, which goes to the ongoing efforts of the non-profit. Strait hosted the event once again with his business partner Tom Cusick, with whom he co-owns Tapatio Springs Hill Country Resort & Spa, where where the event was held.

The event included musical performances by Asleep at the Wheel, Jamey Johnson, Josh Grinder Band, Reckless Kelly, Dean Dillon and Keith Gattis.

Strait, who retired from the road earlier this year with his farewell Cowboy Rides Away Tour, also performed.

This is the fourth year Strait has held the event. Over the years, they have raised well over one million dollars for the worthwhile cause.
