Eric Church has been called the new outlaw, so of course he's performing on the night they pay tribute to the original outlaw, Waylon Jennings. Read below.

Eric Church recently announced that he will be joining a superstar cast of artists to pay tribute to the “Outlaw,” Waylon Jennings. The one time concert event is being held July 6th in Austin Texas at ACL Live At The Moody Theatre.

This special show is advertising a list of fourteen artists to perform including Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves to name a few. It’s presumed that each artist will perform a few of Waylon Jennings’ songs and most likely talk about the influence he had on their career.

Eric Church is what some people call a “new outlaw.” He’s trying to keep the roots of country music alive and he greatly respects his elders, such as Waylon Jennings. Church’s inclusion in this show seems rather fitting but it begs the question which songs he will perform. Hopefully the night will be recorded so we can all watch the show.

Willie Nelson, another true outlaw, is very excited about the show as well and had this to say about the coming night:

Waylon Jennings was my friend, brother, and musical soul mate. Playing his songs with these incredible artists, is going to be one hell of a concert event.”
