Dierks Bentley is of course the man behind “Riser,” that huge song that’s been inspiring people and lifting spirits since its release on June fifteenth. Gihee Chang, a fan of Dierks’ from Los Angeles, had a very emotional response when she heard the song for the first time. The powerful track reminded her of her father, who is a successful, self made man, that now is struggling with Alzheimer’s.
Gihee wrote a letter to her father to describe how she felt about him and the song, which he later put on social media. The story was so inspiring that it quickly caught fire and went viral on the internet. After reaching thousands of eyes across the world, her co-workers at the tv station CBS2/KCAL9 arranged for her to meet with the Riser himself, Dierks Bentley.
After hearing the story, Dierks couldn’t say no and was very glad that his music had such an effect on her, as well as the world. Check out the full news story below!

The inspirational song was written by Travis Meadows and Steve Moakler from Nashville, and of course discovered and recorded by Dierks Bentley. Dierks recently told Billboard “I was searching for that one song that gives the album context, and when I heard ‘Riser’ for the first time I knew that was the cornerstone of the album.” Dierks built the album around that song and his love for the track has obviously spread with his fans.
