Dierks Bentley likes to party, and party he did at the Stagecoach Country Music Festival this past weekend. Bentley took the stage just before Stagecoach day two headliner Miranda Lambert and put on a heck of a performance!
During the song “What Was I Thinkin’?” he crowd-surfed to lots of cheers (“pass me around” he told the audience), and then went into “Sideways.” He also performed “Say You Do,” “Tip It On Back,” “I Hold On,” “Every Mile A Memory” and “Up On The Ridge.”
After “5-1-5-0,” Bentley performed “Free And Easy (Down The Road I Go)” and asked to see everyone’s hands. Other songs included “Am I The Only One” where, at one point during it, he asked for a beer and drank it quickly (later on in the set he took sips from a red plastic cup).
His final song, of course, was the popular hit, “Drunk On A Plane.” “I want to fly with you guys,” Bentley said.
He was fun, goofy, commanding and connected immensely with this audience. Above all, despite the crazy antics like smelling his bassist’s armpit, he sang passionately and kept the energy level high.
