Darius Rucker is so excited about his upcoming album Southern Style, that drops next week, that he can’t pick a favorite song!
“I love so many of them,” he tells Taste of Country Nights, then naming “Southern Style” and “Good for a Good Time.”
“There’s just tons of ‘em. I love the whole record … It’s hard to pick one.”
This will be Rucker’s fourth solo album and he will be releasing it with a bang with multiple national media appearances including NBC’s Today Show (3/31), ESPN’s Mike & Mike, First Take and SportsCenter (3/31), CNN’s Headline News (4/1), The Dan Patrick Show (4/1), The Ellen DeGeneres Show (4/6) and ABC’s The Chew (4/16).
The album, produced by Frank Rogers and Keith Stegall, features the Top 5 and climbing hit single “Homegrown Honey,” which Rucker co-wrote with Nathan Chapman and label mate Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum.
Rucker co-penned all 13 tracks on Southern Style with some of country music’s most notable songwriters including Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley, Mark Nesler and Rivers Rutherford.
Rucker’s Southern Style Tour coincides with the release — it kicks off on May 14 in New Jersey. The tour is slated to be a big one, with Brett Eldredge, the Brothers Osborne and a Thousand Horses there to support the singer.
“It’s gonna be boys night out, ya know. It’s gonna be a good time. I wanted to put together a show for people — get your money’s worth,” Rucker says.
“When all those bands said yeah we were so happy. I just can’t wait to get out with those guys and have a good time and play some good music.”
