Darius Rucker has a lot going on these days. His fourth album, co-written with Lady Antebellum‘s Charles Kelley, is all wrapped up and he has also finished a Christmas album that will be released this October.
The single “Homegrown Honey” is a departure from his previous releases. It’s a party song, which we all love, however Rucker doesn’t exactly consider himself a “party guy” anymore. As a result, Rucker said that the song brings out a cool, fun side for him.
“This song was so much fun. It’s a guy I’m not anymore, but we can sing about it anyway.” Rucker says.

The song itself is a up-beat track about a country hottie getting all the boy’s attention during a night out at the bar.
“It’s not one of those family songs — it’s really a country party song. It’s talking about some country girl who lives in New York City. It’s got hooks galore.” Rucker told Rolling Stone Country.
Rucker shot the video in his hometown state of South Carolina during a concert in August. The crowd didn’t know he was filming, now many look forward to catching a glimpse of themselves as the video makes its’ way over the internet!
