Darius Rucker‘s new album, Southern Style, is set for release on March 31.
The headlining arena tour will kick off May 14 in Holmdel, N.J., featuring CMA New Artist of the Year Brett Eldredge, the Brothers Osborne and a Thousand Horses as supports acts.
Rucker teamed up with producer Frank Rogers, who has guided all three of his previous solo releases, for his newest album.
“Frank does great Darius records,” Rucker tells Rolling Stone. “I can’t go in to record with the attitude that I want to sound different. It’s all about the songs for me. I want great songs. And if we have great songs, then Frank is the genius and does what he does.”
“We wanted to have a little more fun with this record … I think it’s going to end up a little more fun,” Rucker says. “But just like I always do, you always write some songs about relationships and family because they always come up, and it’s always some good song that you can’t not record.” Rucker says.
The album’s first single, “Homegrown Honey”, was released last August.
“It’s talking about some country girl who lives in New York City,” Rucker said of the single. “It’s got hooks galore.”
Rucker will then launch his Southern Style Tour in Holmdel, N.J., on May 14.
