“Love You Like That” singer Canaan Smith is at a career high right now as he prepares to tour with superstar Dierks Bentley and release his debut album. Things couldn’t get better for him, even when confronted with a icy lake and a demand that he dive right in from Dierks!
“I still have the voicemail on my phone, I saved it. Dierks called me and invited me out on the road and I just thought that was the coolest thing!” Smith reveals.
“We’re gonna have a blast man. I owe him one, they punked me. He got us to jump in some freezing cold water on New Year’s Day as a tour initiation.” (Video Below).
He wasn’t the only one Dierks got with the prank. Fellow tour-mates Kip Moore and Maddie and Tae were on the boat too and were commanded by their Sounds of Summer leader to jump!
The girls took it better than Moore according to Smith.
“Kip was a sissy that day,” Smith declares.
This month will be a big one for him, on June 23 he’ll drop his debut album, Bronco, which he hopes will help make him a household name. He admits that it’s been a long time coming:
“I’ve been here for 10 years in Nashville just waiting for this moment.”
