Blake Shelton Struggles With Jimmy Fallon’s “Whisper Game”

Blake Shelton stopped by ‘The Tonight Show’ with host Jimmy Fallon and, as always, it was hilarious.

Blake Shelton isn’t exactly known for his patience. His frustrated interactions with Voice co-host Adam Levine can attest to that. However, recently he appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s new “Tonight Show” and hilariously took frustrated outbursts to a whole new level.

In the “Whisper Challenge,” one player wears noise canceling headphones and tries to guess what the other is saying by reading their lips.

The game they played on Thursday (Jan. 22) mostly consisted of blank stares, confusion over if Benedict Cumberbatch is actually a person and Shelton eloquently articulating his critiques by saying things like, “This is bull crap” and “This is the stupidest thing, literally, I have ever been a part of in my entire career.”

“You win something? It’s a contest? There’s like keeping points or something?” Shelton asks Fallon before playing. “It’s just something stupid we’re doing or you keep score?”

After Shelton puts on the headphones, Fallon imitates the singer’s thick Oklahoma accent to a laughing audience. The first phrase: Pumpkin Spice Latte. Shelton asked Fallon to repeat it a couple of times before completely getting it wrong. His wrong answer was, although much funnier, a lot more inappropriate than the coffee drink.

It is good that Blake Shelton is warming up his funny-chops. He is set to perform this weekend on  Saturday Night Live.

“I don’t know which one I’m more nervous about,” the 38-year-old country singer told E! News  this week while prepping for Saturday’s show, referring to his hosting or his musical performance.

“I grew up obviously, like all of us did, watching this show and because I’m an artist, I’m a country singer, that was always my dream is to get a chance to sing on this show.”

Perhaps it is his wife Miranda Lambert that is even more nervous for his SNL performance.

“I think there’s a little part of Miranda that’s really worried about this. I mean, just to be completely honest,” Shelton said.

Why’s that?

“Miranda’s always the one when we’re at parties or something and I’m being funny and I start taking it too far into gross land or whatever, she’s the one that’s always like, ‘Blake! Blake, stop it.’

She won’t be here when we do this and there won’t be anybody,” he added. “She’s like a stage mom and she won’t be here to go, ‘Oh, I really don’t think you should do that.'”
