Billy Currington will open for his idol Tim McGraw during McGraw's "Shotgun Rider" tour!

Billy Currington has been putting in his dues for over a decade and it has sure paid off!

The Georgia native has parlayed his rich, emotion-laden tenor and unerring song sense into some of the country format’s most memorable hits, including such No. 1s as “We Are Tonight,” “Hey Girl, “Good Directions,” “Must Be Doin’ Something Right”  and “People Are Crazy.”

Billy Currington will now team up with Tim McGraw this summer on the Shotgun Rider Tour ’15. The cross-country tour kicks off June 5th in Little Rock, Arkansas and runs through September 19th with stops in Dallas, Boston, Chicago and Sacramento.

“I’ve been wanting to tour with Tim for so long,” says Billy.

“I met him quite a while ago, five, six, seven years ago. Actually met him and got to hang out with him, and I think we went hunting together on his property and just had a great day. And since then, deriving from all the good talks we had and the inspiration he gave me and the advice and on and on, I always say, ‘Man I’ve got to tour with this guy someday.’ And so now it’s happening and here we are. I really look forward to it.”

Touring with Tim McGraw is something that a lot of musicians probably aspire to, but only a few get to experience.

“I mean, he sells places out left and right everywhere he goes, and that’s something I get to open up for and be a part of the same fans and, hopefully you know, make some new fans,” the “Don’t It” singer says, “the ones that have been following him for so long and have never heard our music.”
