Music City Roots, Live From The Factory is a weekly, two-hour radio show that revives the historic legacy of live musical radio production in Nashville. The broadcast airs on Wednesday nights from 7PM to 9PM Central Time and showcases Nashville’s thriving music scene, from country and Americana to more progressive interpretations of traditional music.
Presented live from The Factory stage, the program’s format encompasses multiple genres and unites fans of different tastes and generations. The radio program is also broadcast on several public television affiliates across the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom.
MCR reaches out to a global audience and projects bluegrass, folk, alternative, western, rockabilly and crossovers into rock, jazz and world music. Each broadcast highlights four to five brilliant artists in 20 minute segments and also encourages artists to collaborate in a collective jam session. The legendary Keith Bilbrey serves as announcer while Jim Lauderdale and other leaders of the music community host the festivities.
While the live radio show is immersed in rich Nashville tradition, its aim is to provide a a global platform to showcase the deep well of amazing and diverse talent that exists in Tennessee, across the United States, and around the world. All featured musicians share the same honest love for the various forms of roots music that emerged from American culture.
MCR offers artists an unique outlet to share their talent with the world – to connect with music lovers everywhere, through creative distribution platforms that were never before possible.
