After seventeen years of not missing a show, Little Big Town recently had to cancel a whole bunch due to singer Jimi Westbrook’s emergency vocal surgery. The Pain Killer Tour came to a quick halt just two days before it was set to kick off at the Greek Theatre on June 18th.

After a few months of recovery, the quartet has been healed and is singing better than ever according to Kimberly Schlapman of the group. She recently gave an update on Jimi on a phone interview and said, “It’s funny because he had kind of lost his falsetto voice over the years, because, like I said, we’ve never really taken a break, but he had kind of lost that high, pure voice.”
“But, he has it back now and it’s fantastic. He goes around singing really high and I’m like ‘If you go singing higher than me, we’re going to have a problem.’ Now he’s just showing off, but he’s doing great and we started back with the tour last weekend and everything has gone perfectly.”
With Jimi sounding even better than before, it looks like this was only a minor speedbump. The group is working hard to re-schedule the missed dates, and are making sure no fans are left disappointed.
You can find their new tour schedule below, and see if you can tell a difference in Jimi’s voice when he sings. For more trending news about Little Big Town click HERE.
