Kellie Pickler is from North Carolina. She grew up in a small town called Albemarle and was raised by her grandparents starting at age 12. She of course spent many Christmases back home, but she now lives in Nashville and sometimes misses those Carolina Christmases.
Pickler recently took to her pen to express herself in an emotional and thoughtful Christmas tune that brings her back home with images of her Carolina Christmas. The song was mostly inspired by Kellie’s grandmother who she dearly loved.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Kellie had this to say about the inspiration behind the track. “It’s about Christmas in North Carolina with my grandma. My grandmother raised me and was the one I called ‘Mom.’ It’s a sweet Christmas ballad about Christmas with her growing up.”
