Eric Church performs timeless John Lennon song at Madison Square Garden. Get the full show details here.

John Lennon died 35 years ago. His music was timeless, pure, loving, and has made huge impressions on every generation since his. Country star Eric Church is a huge John Lennon fan and was very excited to perform at the John Lennon “Imagine” benefit concert in New York on Saturday.

The night was hosted by Kevin Bacon and held at Madison Square Garden. All proceeds from the show went to Robin Hood, a stand-up organization that fights poverty.

Church told the crowd that “John Lennon wrote and sang music that mattered, and we need to do more of that today.” He went on to perform a chilling rendition of “Mind Games” by himself, and then joined his buddy Steven Tyler to perform an epic rendition of “Revolution.”

Eric Church wasn’t the only country icon to show up and perform, the night included a rendition of “Imagine” by Willie Nelson, “Working Class Hero” by Kris Kristofferson and Tom Morelo, and a stellar pairing of Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow, and Brandon Flowers performing “Don’t Let Me Down.” The night included too many stars to list here so check below for the full list.

We’d of course love to show you some of these performances right now but unfortunately the show won’t be aired until December 19th on AMC. The night was a huge success and spoke loudly against war and encouraged more love, all through music. If you ask me, that’s an ideal kind of night.
